Broadway!

I’m not usually a huge fan of musicals as an actor, but when it comes to seeing Broadway shows, I’m usually pretty stoked.  It’s just an overall good time, most of the time.  The last show I saw was Billy Elliot (which was brilliant), and before that Wicked (meh).  There’s a few newer shows I am super keen on seeing at some point.

I loved the movie.  And while movies don’t always translate very well to the stage, or vice-versa, I think this one has a pretty good chance of being absolutely delicious.  The thing I love about theatre is that, at least to me, it’s more accessible, it’s more personal.  Once, the movie, was personal from the get go – that’s why I loved it, not to mention the music is raw and tearfully scrumptious.  Here’s a few shots from the Broadway version I stole whilst trolling online:

It seems like they were able to keep the feel of the movie while transferring it to the stage.  Although I’m sure it’s a lot different, I have high hopes it’ll be true to it’s source material.

Here’s a little preview of it for you:

Next on my list:

A Peter Pan origin story. How can that be anything but fantastic?  I have yet to read the book this musical is based on, but I WILL.  Here’s a few photos to get you pumped too:

Is it just me, or does the mustachioed dude (CAPTAIN HOOK?) look absolutely hilarious?

Check out the preview! (I have yet to listen to it, because I’m in the middle of a class whilst I blog this, but I watched it on mute and it looks decent. :D )
