While I am not gay, I am sympathetic to the LGBTQ community. I believe that it is everyone’s right to love and to be loved. I do not believe it is right to judge, harass, single-out, demean, or condone behavior which is less than appreciative and loving towards anyone regardless of their background, heritage, social status, gender, or sexual identity.
As a Christian, I have been raised in a community which sees homosexuality as a sin, and a sin that that individual has control and mastery over if they choose to do so. With this view comes a feeling of superiority and an innate “betterness” over the gay community as a whole. I have been around this harshness my entire life.
I am still a Christian. I love Jesus. But I can’t stand all these shenanigans.
